The "LOVE IN ACTION" Senior Group at ZION HILL BAPTIST CHURCH was organized September 29, 1985 with twenty-seven members. Our aim was adopted from James 1:22: "Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only". We have a breakfast meeting on the 2 nd Wednesday of each month, with special speakers.
Our Newsletter, "Love's Letter", goes out to 82 members currently. We also send birthday, get well and other appropriate cards to all our members. We, the active members, visit the sick, homebound and those in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living on a regular basis and keep in touch. Over the nineteen year period as our enrollment has grown. we have lost fifty of our members, who have gone to be with the Lord.
Over the years, we have taken many day trips such as cruises and lunch on the "Sassy-Fied", a large cruiser belonging to Memorial Park. Below you can view some of the pictures made at some of our activities. We have lots of fun and fellowship together. We have attended many Senior Adult Conferences for three days in Toccoa at the Baptist Assembly, Jekyll Island, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and Ridgecrest in N.C. We have a strong bond of Love in times of joy as well as sorrow. Once a year, usually on the first Sunday in May, we celebrate with the church on Georgia Baptist Senior Day. We have had many of our pastors and musicians from the years gone by as our special guest. |
