Heaven or Hell?

You can KNOW for sure where you will spend eternity!

Heaven and Hell are both very real places described in the Bible. Do you KNOW for sure where you will spend eternity? Heaven or Hell? Knowing FOR SURE is as simple as A…B…C!

Jesus' Crucifixion
A – Admit you are a sinner. Repent and turn from your sin.
Acts 3:19 (NKJV) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord”

B – Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and receive God’s gift of forgiveness from sin.
Romans 5:8 (NKJV) “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

C – Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior.
Romans 10:9-10, 13 (NKJV) “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For ‘whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’”

The Good Shepherd

Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. Jesus Himself told us so in John 14:6 (NKJV) “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus came to Earth to be the door to Heaven, to be the final atoning sacrifice that would be acceptable to God the Father. He was sent because, as John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Adam & Eve Driven From the Garden of Eden

You might ask, “Why do I need to admit that I am a sinner?” Well, Romans 3:23 (NKJV) tells us “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” This sin separates mankind from God. It is God’s desire that we have fellowship and communion with Him. In other words, it is His desire that we get to know Him. We can only do that through Jesus Christ. By admitting to God that we are a sinner, by believing that Jesus is the sinless Son of God who lived a sinless life and died for my own sins, by believing that God the Father raised Jesus from the dead as proof of His satisfaction with Jesus’ atoning sacrifice for my sins, and finally by confessing or professing what is already in my heart that Jesus Christ is my Savior, the Bible says that I am saved and will spend eternity in Heaven with Jesus.

The Holy Spirit at Pentecost

How do I know if I have been saved? Scripture tells us several things that bear witness to our salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Here are a few of them to help assure you of your salvation. First, upon your salvation, you were indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit leads, guides, and directs us as we live our lives, if we will allow Him. He also bears witness that we now belong to the Lord. Romans 8:16 (NKJV) says, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” The Holy Spirit is the seal of our salvation, always bearing witness of Jesus in our lives.

The Temple Veil Is Torn From Top To Bottom

At salvation, we also become new creatures. Our old sinful nature is replaced with a new nature that desires the things of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” This is why you have a hunger for reading and studying God’s Word and a desire to fellowship with God’s people. If these things have faded in your life, you need a personal revival. All revival, in your life, your family, your church, your community, or this nation is the work of the Holy Spirit and it starts in your heart as it is made fresh and sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leadership and guidance one again.

Thomas the Doubter

God is always faithful. There is no sin He cannot forgive. There is no person that cannot be reconciled or made right with the Lord. Jesus paid the price so that none of us would have to pay it in Hell, separated from God. However, God gave us free will to choose to receive Jesus’ sacrifice or reject it. No one goes to Hell because God sent them there. No one goes to Heaven because God sent them there. They go where they go because they made a conscious choice to accept or reject Jesus, the Son of God and the gift of salvation He has offered to all of mankind. Jesus paid the price so that we could freely receive God’s gracious gift of eternal life in Heaven. 1 John 1:9 (NKJV) says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Do you KNOW FOR SURE where you will spend eternity? If not, resolve this question today and begin living out your eternal life with Jesus today!
